Directions from M11 (Junction 7)
Take A414 towards Hertford. Go through three roundabouts and turn right at the fourth (B183 to Hatfield Heath, Brown sign). Continue straight through two more roundabouts, when you will come upon a quarter mile straight road (Gilden Way). At the end of this straight there is a brown sign on the right pointing left to Marsh Lane and the entrance to the Garden.
Directions from A1060 Chelmsford/Bishops Stortford road
In Hatfield Heath turn left (from Chelmsford) or right (from Bishops Stortford) onto B183 towards Sheering. Go through Sheering, cross the M11 and follow the road through a number of S bends. You will eventually see a brown sign on the left pointing right to Marsh Lane and the entrance to the Garden.
The nearest station is HARLOW MILL on the Liverpool St./Cambridge line, from where it is approx. one and a quarter miles to the Garden.:
For travellers from Liverpool Street : Cross tracks by footbridge and exit station by main building.
For travellers from Cambridge: Walk up the platform and exit station by main building.
For all: Turn left out of station building, walk back parallel with platform, past cycle racks, and take pedestrian tunnel under the road.
Follow footpath for about 60 yards and take left-hand fork. Continue along footpath, with houses on left and wooded bank on right for about 300 yards to end at T junction (Priory Avenue). Turn left down Priory Avenue to end (about a quarter mile): mini-roundabout. Turn right along Old Road and keep going to house No. 29(Sheldon) on right. On the left at this point there is a public footpath sign pointing left through a gate into the Trustees of Marigolds Recreation Ground. Go through gate - footpath soon forks: take right-hand path. Follow path which eventually widens to a bridle path, and after about half a mile ends in a T-junction at a macadam single lane - turn left. Follow lane through two 90° turns, and you will arrive at the Gibberd Garden.
Bus service to the Garden from HARLOW TOWN
There is only one bus service along Gilden Way, the No.59 Harlow/Chelmsford route, which leaves the bus station in Harlow at 15 minutes past the hour, arriving at Marsh Lane approximately half past the hour. The walk from the Marsh lane bus stop to the Garden is approximately half a mile. The return service passes Marsh Lane at approximately 10 minutes to the hour, arriving back at the bus station at about 5 minutes past the hour.
There is no direct service from Harlow Town Railway Station to the Garden, but there is a frequent service from the train station to the bus station in the centre of Harlow
